Hello everyone,
We've finally completed discussion of rules suggested among some suggested changes of our own. Here is the breakdown. This will be posted as a reply to the rules and amended in rules as well.
Week 14 Bye Weeks
With Week 14 being round one of the playoffs, teams are at a disadvantage due to bye weeks. Given that a team could lose its starting QB due to a bye, we have implemented the following rule:
If a player is on a bye during Week 14 (playoffs round one), you can start said player in your lineup (Week 14 only) and earn the players weekly average to date. In order for a player to be eligible to be used on a bye week, he must have played in at least six (6) games prior to week 14. At that point, the player will earn their weekly average point total (per fantrax) and the score will be added to the team's weekly total.
Teams Not Setting Weekly Lineups
Teams who do not set a lineup for two consecutive weeks, or three or more times in a season will be penalized by having recruiting money deducted from their totals. Exact penalty figures will be released prior to the start of the season.
Should a team excessively violate the weekly lineup setting rules, they will be removed from the league.
Non-playoff Teams Signing Players To Future Contracts
Teams that are eliminated from the playoffs are not allowed to sign any UFA, however, because of the advantage that gives playoff teams to sign players for multiple years, once the playoffs begin, you can only sign a UFA for the current season, no two or more year contracts allowed.
One-week contracts
Due to the nature of extra administration work this would take, and logistics with salary cap and roster limits, the rules committee has voted against allowing one-week contracts.
Additional IR Spots
IR Spots in both NCAA & NFL portions of the league will be expanded to five (5)
Adding Kickoff & Punt Return TD's to league scoring
Beginning in 2024, points will be awarded for Kickoff & Punt return TD's. Because we have already begun items such as UFA and recruiting, we did not feel comfortable adding an additional scoring category for the 2023 season.
Overal Standings Points
The rules committee has agreed to an adjustment of points awarded for where you finish in the standings. A final adjustment will be made prior to the start of the season.
NCAA Portion Divisions
The NCAA portion will break into two conferences: AFC & NFC. NCAA teams will match their NFL teams to determine which conference they are in. Then top four teams from each conference will make playoffs. The top seed in each conference will play the lowest seed in their respective conference while seeds two and three will play. Winners will meet each other in round two, with the winners advancing to the NCAA Championship.
