Hello everyone,
Sorry for the delay in getting this going. I have added all drafted players to your NFL rosters, as well as any college undrafted free agents that you own that have since signed. As a reminder:
Undrafted Players
Any player who is not returning to school for the 2022 season and goes undrafted will remain on your NCAA roster until Sunday, August 14th at 5:00 PM EST. At that time, if they have not signed an NFL contract or been signed to an NFL practice squad, they will be release into the Free Agent pool.
Any player who is not drafted in the 2022 NFL draft and then signs a contract with an NFL team or signs to an NFL practice squad following the draft can be added to your NFL team once the player is signed. In order for this to happen, you MUST NOTIFY ME PRIOR TO SUNDAY, AUGUST 14TH (as of 5/20/22) in order to maintain the players rights. If no notification is sent, the player will enter the free agent pool at that time. You can notify me by posting to the appropriate folder here in Proboards (please note in the post it is a rookie). Please remember, NO GUEST POSTS, you must log in to post anything here on Proboards.
Free Agency
Bids for NFL free agents can be made as of 10:00 AM on Monday.
Free agents can be bid on using your ProBoards account under Transactions -> Free Agency -> whatever position the player plays at.
Free agents will be auctioned off, meaning every team has the chance to acquire a free agent. As in an auction, the highest bidder wins. However, to win the auction, your bid must stand the highest for at least 24 hours. You may NOT cancel or edit pending signings. In order to bid on a player, you must have the appropriate roster spot and salary cap space to obtain the player. For example, if you have 38 players on your roster, you can only have a high bid on two UFA's. (See below on Red Shirt Rookies)
Players are only eligible for free agency if they are signed to or have their rights owned by an NFL team. Free agency will close upon the conclusion of the NCFL Super Bowl, and reopen at a date to be determined after the conclusion of the draft.
The minimum bid is $500,000 and there is no maximum, the max number of years you can bid on a player is five .
Remember, the per-year salary over the life of the contract remains constant for every drafted and signed player.
When bidding on UFAs, you must multiply years by cash. For example, 3 yrs @ $800,000 (multiplied it's $2,400,000) would beat a 1 yr @ $2,300,000 (multiplied it's $2,300,000) offer. You must out-bid by the multiplied total of $100,000 for it to be valid.
Red Shirt Rookies
Similar to last year, you are allowed to Red Shirt 10 rookies on your NFL roster. These players do not count towards your roster limits or cap hit. Keep in mind that once a player is removed from his redshirt status, he can no longer be placed back into redshirt status, and you lose that redshirt spot. The only exception to this is during the off-season during the time period between the NFL Draft and the below Red Shirt deadline.
I would suggest placing rookies into your red shirt slots to allow you to bid on more free agents should you choose.
You will have until Monday, September 5th to redshirt your rookies. You can designate a player for redshirt status by placing them into your "minors" slot in Fantrax. On that day, I will go through and update the master sheet with the players designated for redshirt status.
